  • Assisting with preparations for the European Epistemology Network meeting here in Lund in March.
  • Peer reviewer on an extended mind paper and needing to finish re-writing mine by Monday. 🙂
  • Proofreading again for Prof. Gärdenfors: a paper titled “The Evolution of Semantics”.
  • Sent Jordan (Zlatev, my project supervisor) some notes that could be the starting point for a joint paper on his idea of a semiotic hierarchy, attempting to reconstruct a phylogenetic story for meaning/concepts/representations/signs.

· Thinking about different conceptions of what physical stuff is.

· Getting an application together for a position in Norway, where, as part of a research project on causation in science, I would write a thesis on explanation, reduction, emergence etc. in psychology.

  • Just found out this morning that my paper for TSC-Stockholm was bumped up from a poster presentation to a concurrent talk (“phenomenology/content”). This means I am now planning to attend.
  • Volunteered to serve again on the board for the Philosophy Society (“Filosofiska Föreningen”) again for the coming year.
  • Read a book chapter highly relevant to Blay’s E-I talk today, written by a retired lecturer from the department (who sent it to me because it’s also relevant to my “extended mind” paper).

  • Asked to do peer review on another paper on the extended mind for Philosophical Psychology.
  • Part of annual research review process at Centre for Cognitive Semiotics (CCS), reporting back to the grant providers.
  • Engaged in extensive email discussions with other members of CCS about the nature of metaphor and the literal/metaphorical distinction.
